Last year we were lucky enough to pick up an award at the Sunshine Radio Pride Awards 2017 for ‘Entrepreneur / Business of the Year’.
Very unexpected based on who we were up against! However very gratefully received, and the Sunshine Radio Pride Award is still proudly displayed on our wall in our office.
As soon as we picked up the award we had every intention of giving something back. So this year we are sponsoring a category close to our hearts – ‘New Business of the Year’.
This award is for those who go it alone and become the future captains of industry. Being a new starter is less daunting than it used to be and setting up your own business is more rewarding than ever. We’re looking for a local business that started within the last 18 months that is pioneering in its field, be it an individual or small to medium business that is rapidly expanding and demonstrating excellent service and productivity.
We’re 8 years old this year but it only feels like yesterday when we started.
We understand the trials and tribulations of being a new business. Even when we were reborn (rebranded) to The DM Lab it felt like a new start. A new look, new direction and a new-found enthusiasm.
We’ve worked hard to get to where we are today. We know what goes in to starting a new business…and succeeding of course! We’re looking forward to seeing which new businesses get shortlisted and which one wins.
It’s definitely an event we’re getting behind from now on, celebrating the awesome people in our county. The Sunshine Radio Pride Awards event is on Thursday October 25th at the Left Bank, so good luck to all entrants and hopefully we’ll see you there!
