The Challenge
Melcon Ltd is a well-established electrical contractor based in Herefordshire, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality commercial and industrial projects.
With NICEIC Approved Contractor status and ISO9001 accreditation, the business has built long-standing relationships across the region, supported by a skilled team many of whom began their careers through apprenticeships within the company.
However, their existing website was built using a restrictive platform that had become difficult to manage internally. The team found themselves unable to easily update content, limiting the website’s effectiveness as a communication and marketing tool.
The website no longer reflected:
- the quality and professionalism of the business
- the scale of their work and experience
- the strength of their team and reputation
The objective was to create a modern, manageable website that aligned with the company’s identity and could be easily maintained by the internal team.
Our Approach
We migrated the website from its existing builder platform into WordPress, creating a flexible and scalable foundation for the business.
The focus was on:
- improving usability for both users and the internal team
- refreshing the design to better reflect the brand
- simplifying content management
- creating a structure that supports future growth
Website Migration & Platform Upgrade
The existing website was rebuilt in WordPress, removing the limitations of the previous system.
This allowed for:
- full control over content and page updates
- improved flexibility for future development
- a more stable and scalable platform
The migration ensured continuity while significantly improving how the website functions day-to-day.
Design Refresh & Brand Alignment
Alongside the migration, we redesigned the website to better represent Melcon’s identity.
The new design focuses on:
- clear presentation of services and expertise
- a professional, modern visual style
- improved readability and structure
- alignment with the company’s established reputation
The website now reflects the quality and reliability that Melcon is known for.
Improved Content Management
A key outcome of the project was making the website easy to manage internally.
Using WordPress and Elementor, the Melcon team can now:
- update content quickly and efficiently
- add new projects and information
- maintain the website without technical barriers
This ensures the website remains current and relevant over time.
Impact
- Migration from a restrictive platform to a flexible WordPress system
- Improved usability for both users and internal team
- Modernised design aligned with company reputation
- Greater control over content and updates
- Scalable platform supporting future growth
The website now acts as a reliable and accurate reflection of the business, rather than a limitation.
