Building on our incredible successes in 2017, we’ve been selected as one of the #SmallBiz100! 2018…
We’ve not mentioned it for a while, so we thought we would. Again. Sorry not sorry! 2017 was a great year for us. Picking up 2 awards was a particular highlight. One was for ‘Growing Business of the Year’ at the Herefordshire Business Awards. The second was ‘Entrepreneur / Business of the Year’ at the Sunshine Radio Pride Awards. Great feeling and still immensely proud that our efforts were recognised, especially locally!
We’ve had to keep this quiet for over a month which we have successfully done. At times it was tough and we just wanted to broadcast it! We adhered to the instructions from Mich and the Small Business Saturday team though!
We are really proud (and honoured) to have been selected as one of Small Business Saturday’s #SmallBiz100!
If you’re unfamiliar with what the Small Biz 100 is, it’s when Small Business Saturday highlights 100 small businesses, one a day for the 100 days leading up to Small Business Saturday 2018.
We’ve got involved with Small Business Saturday since we rebranded in 2014:
2016 – we just joined in the conversation on Twitter with snippets and tips – surprisingly our 2015 offering was still as current as it is even today. The reason we couldn’t fully immerse ourselves was because we were at Twickenham on Small Business Saturday 2016. I know, we’re sorry! After the whitewash 3-0 test series win down under we had to see what the Wallabies would do to rectify this so we anticipated a cracker. Unforgivable but legit!
We also saw the Small Business Saturday Bus when it visited Hereford back on the 9th November 2017. We had every intention of getting involved again this year, but the cool thing is we will be one of the #SmallBiz100 Alumni!
Our business is all about helping other business so we’ll be offering what we can to help with their self-marketing efforts for sure.
Invite to the Blue Tie event
Back to the accolade of being a Small Biz 100 though! Very exciting! We’ve been invited to The Blue Tie this year on the 13th September, an opportunity to meet our fellow SmallBiz100, hear about the campaign this year, and celebrate our success in some West End Style! We’ll be bothering our friends at Slaters again to look the part!
The only other Small Biz 100 Alumni we know of locally is Julu who were one back in 2017. Julu were also shortlisted as one of the 3 nominations for ‘Growing Business of the Year’ with us at the Herefordshire Business Awards last year. There’s also The Great British Florist and Philip Morris back in 2015. We’re in good company and an exclusive club it would seem! This year we are the only Herefordshire based Small Biz 100 so we’ll be flying the flag for our great county! The only other #SmallBiz100 companies nearby are Rock Follies Vintage from neighbouring Worcester!
Our ‘day’ is the 14th of November. We’ll be tweeting and Facebooking a fair bit of who we are and what we do. For information purposes rather than a shameless indulgence to take advantage of our opportunity. We’ll be advertising what we’ve achieved and highlight our past successes and future goals. If any other small businesses feel they’d benefit from working with us we would love to hear from you and tell you what we can do. We’ll really be embracing the day as a business however we’ll be saving our hints and tips for Small Business Saturday itself. Sorry! You’ll have to check out our social media channels on the 1s December for that. We can tell you that it’ll be worth the wait though!
