The Challenge

Belmont Wanderers Football Club is one of Herefordshire's largest grassroots football clubs, supporting more than 500 players across over 30 boys', girls', men's and women's teams.

As the club continued to grow, so did the complexity of managing fixtures, teams, memberships, payments, communications and club information.

The club already operated an internal WordPress management portal used by volunteers to manage day-to-day operations. However, the public website no longer reflected the scale of the organisation or the quality of the systems operating behind the scenes.

The objective was to create a modern digital platform that could:

The internal management portal remained the central source of truth, while the public website was rebuilt as a high-performance Progressive Web App (PWA) that securely consumes live data through custom-built APIs.

• suppression of Under-12 match scores in line with FA guidance
• server-side validation to ensure safeguarding rules cannot accidentally be bypassed

By embedding safeguarding into the platform itself, the club reduces risk while maintaining confidence in published content.
