In August 2018, we were named as one of Small Business Saturday’s Small Biz 100.
Back in November, we celebrated our Small Biz 100 ‘day’. You can read all about it here, but in brief, we wanted to celebrate by helping other businesses. Making our day about helping others. Afterall, it’s what we do, but what better way to celebrate than share knowledge with other great businesses?! We did this by putting on two talks to help them with their digital marketing efforts or even get started with them. Because of this accolade and event, we connected with Julu!
It was good, the kind people that turned up helped make it successful
We hope it was worth their while! One such person who signed up and attended was Lucie from Julu. Our paths had crossed a few times before from afar. We were up against Julu at the inaugural Herefordshire Business Awards in 2017 in the ‘Growing Business of the Year’ category which we won.
We had seen that even before the awards, Julu were also one of Small Business Saturday’s Small Biz 100 of 2017. An accolade we would soon share as we were named as one in 2018. Coincidently, Julu were again at the 2018 Herefordshire Business Awards, as we were, and this time picked up the award for ‘Growing Business of the Year’!

While both of us shared similar achievements. We met Lucie formally last November at our Small Biz 100 ‘day’. Asking questions about Julu’s current marketing efforts and chatting to Chris after the event we realised that there was some synergy. Yep, we used the word synergy!
We realised that the ladies’ efforts so far were heading in the right direction, and we were pleased that some of the points we made gave Lucie and insight into how to improve upon their digital marketing. Fast forward a few months and we’ve met and spoken a few times and we are now working together.
Initially seeing what is performing well and what isn’t, we’re able to start our journey together. An exciting award-winning company with an innovative product and also one of the Small Business Alumni! We wonder if our paths would have formally crossed but thanks to Small Business Saturday, we’re working with an exciting local company looking to grow further. We are excited to be a part of this in any capacity. However, we would like to extend our thanks to Michelle and Small Business Saturday for bringing us together!
