You may or may not know that we started out as McTip IT. That name came about as parts of each founders’ name. Since one is no longer with us and we are no longer an IT solutions company. We have been working on a rebrand for about 3 years. Nothing really stuck. We knew that this was a one-time thing, and it had to be right. Here at the Lab, we were (and still are) huge fans of the American show ‘Breaking Bad’ we were inspired by their logo, using chemical symbols. Our ‘trading as’ name is The Digital Marketing Laboratory, abbreviated to The DM Lab. We, too, used a chemical symbol design (with Digital Marketing abbreviated to capital D and a lower case m to mimic that of a chemical symbol). We can associate ourselves with a chemical process. You start out with multiple things which on their own are special in their own way, but, put them together and you have something even more special. Like a chemical reaction! We also created Mason, our ‘lab technician’ a little character we use on our own marketing material.
So there you go, the inspiration and the reason for our rebrand!
