Sunday mornings. What do you normally do? Have a lie-in? Not us! Here at The DM Lab, we pretty much do something every Sunday. Sunday 14th June we entered the Sanlam UK Go Dad Run in Worcester.
What is the Go Dad Run you ask?! The Sanlam Go Dad Run is a series of 5K runs for men and boys aged 11 and over to raise awareness of and funds for Prostate Cancer UK. Go Dad Runs are open to fathers, sons, brothers, partners, friends, neighbours, work colleagues and teammates to take part in.
We arrived at Worcester Racecourse at about 10:00am, registered and picked up our cool Puma T-shirts and our Go Dad Run pants and put them on ready for the warm up. There was loads going on, we chatted to photographer David Griffiths who asked us for a quick pre-race photo – we obliged and woke up today to find a pic of Team DM Lab in the Worcester News!
Without a doubt we’ll be returning again to next year’s race. It was a lot of fun. We had the opportunity to collar Colin Jackson and Donovan for a post-race selfie (Derek Redmond was busy giving out goody bags and medals to the guys finishing behind us and we didn’t want to be rude and drag him away!)
