Throughout 2019, we gave so much back as a business. Clubs, events and organisations have all benefit from working with us. In 2020, we’re building on this and promoting anything and everything local.
How?
Each week on our Twitter, we’ll feature a business, club or charity and give them a shoutout. The great thing is, we won’t be restricting these shoutouts to clients alone. If we love what you do – we’ll shout you out!
Why?
We’re making 2020 extra special because it’s our 10th year trading (in June). We’ve made so many great friends and contacts throughout these 10 years. So, this year we want to share in others’ successes. We had a really awesome shoutout from Jules (SMBN) and it gave us such a buzz we want to pass this buzz onto others. Because Jules was such a key part to this idea. As a result, Jules and her business (Single Mums Business Network) will be our first shoutout.
What?
It won’t be salesy – it is simply us acknowledging the work you and your business do. Nor is it a gentle shove to make ourselves known to you. We’ll simply be telling our followers of your great work. Call it a recommendation or call it an endorsement. Call it anything you want, it’s just us sharing the love!
There won’t be a cheesy hashtag or specific day or time, just once a week, we’ll tweet. No strings, no paid plugs either.
There are so many great businesses within the County, we want to tell the world! If we work together, we can achieve incredible things. This year we have to push ourselves even further than last year. Supporting as many businesses as we can.

Week 13
We met Hamish and Katie at the 2018 Herefordshire Business Awards – we were on the same table! Since then our friendship has blossomed and we’ve worked together. As well as amazing event catering, these guys do some incredible street food – our favourites being the wood fired pizzas and the awesome spiral spuds! Great people , great food – that’s worth shouting about!

Week 1
The primary objective of the SMBN is to help you gain exposure to your business. The secondary objective is to reduce stigma and dispel misconceptions that single mums are work shy. It is the passion of founder Julie Hawkins to raise awareness of the real issue being that work is not in sync with school and wages are not in sync with inflation.
