Here at The Lab we’re big sports fans. Being fans gives us an edge when it comes to matchday programme design. Why? We buy them and we know what we want to see. As business owners’ we also understand the value of matchday programme advertising. As a design agency we know what works visually.

It is an area we would really like to involve ourselves more in.

Our previous experience has enabled us to hone our approach, work flow and design. We have designed matchday programmes for Hereford United Football Club, Westfields FC, Hereford RFC & Liversedge FC. Below are a few page samples.

Matchday Programme Design & Print

Matchday Programme Design & Print

The in-house team will put together the matchday programme design. It really does not matter where in the UK your team is based, we can work remotely. You don’t need to be local to us. However printing the programme there are 2 options as follows:

Option 1

Once finalised, we will add the print ready files (in CMYK complete with bleeds and trims) to Dropbox. If you use a local printer you can send them the link we send you to access and download the files.

Option 2

We have established a firm and trusted relationship with Printed.com. Printed.com are an online printing service. Instead of burdening you with printing the matchday programmes we can take care of it. We will send the print ready files straight to Printed.com. You confirm to us the quantity required and we will order and get them deliver straight to you! Print costings are completely transparent and readily available on their website. We do not make money on this service. We offer this as a bonus to employing our services!

Costings

As fans of rugby and football plus previous experience, we understand the process of matchday programme compilation and print. Speak to us in detail about your project. We’re very happy to arrange an on-going agreement – no contacts! Do you have a rough estimate of pages to help us cost? (In increments of 4).

Process

As mentioned, it doesn’t matter where you are based. We have a flawless management process in place using an online project management tool. We use Basecamp. In brief it’s a communications hub where your team and our team work together on the programmes. No individual emails, nothing gets missed and accessible 24/7.

Assuming the home fixtures are every 2 weeks, we would work as follows:

Saturday / Sunday – immediately after a game begin preparing content (text and images)

Monday – Friday – we will start putting together the programme. Throughout the course of the week your team can send us content as and when.

Throughout this week – depending on receipt of content, we’ll look to assemble the matchday programme draft.

The Following Monday – finalise as necessary

Tuesday (Wednesday latest) – order the programmes should we use option 2 to ensure delivery of programmes in time for matchday. Next day deliveries are available just at an extra cost.

We also work with local rugby and sports club Luctonians. Although we don’t produce their matchday programme we do however design other elements. For example, here is a recent sample of a 20-page end of 2016 / 2017 newsletter for the club. A5 with the same paper quality and thickness of a matchday programme. Further examples of our work can be supplied upon request.
