Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th July 2018

Since summer 2018 keeps on giving, in both a weather and event context, we’ll keep taking!

Saturday

It was another scorcher this weekend and with loads going on, we had to start early to cram it all in. It started on Saturday, early on Saturday with a look at what Sunshine Radio Horsepower Motor Show had on display. Couple of pics below – pretty cool seeing Bumblebee from the Transformers movie.

Next up was the Greyhound RFC annual ‘Tug of War’. Despite the downpour on the Friday, it didn’t leave the ground soggy and it was a perfect day for it. We stayed most of the day, only missing out on the live music and the hog roast because of what we had going on Saturday evening. A few photos of the event are below.

Next up on Saturday evening we made a trip over to Ludlow for the second Ludlow 10. A 10km run around Ludlow, after taking part in the inaugural event last year, we were back for more this year! The revamped route was a reversal of last years’ and the warm evening made it a tough ask. At the end of the event we grabbed some fish and chips for a dirty carb load for what was coming on the Sunday!

Sunday

Sunday was going to be another scorcher, and it was also the day of the St. Michael’s Hospice ‘Wheelie Big Cycle’. Another annual event the hospice run which we try and take part in every year. Having already run the half marathon back in May. We’d normally take the 58 mile route but when we booked, we had hoped that England would be playing in the final so opted for 40 miles to get washed fed and head into town. Unfortunately, as you know, they fell short. A saving grace really as the new route and the heat made it quite a challenge. 40 miles was plenty yesterday!

Another fun filled weekend supporting local events. We love it!
